David Johannesson

David Johannesson is a singer, drummer, guitarist, and songwriter who Modern Drummer Magazine called “a triple threat musician!” David has enjoyed a varied career in the Canadian music scene, both as a bandleader, and as a sideman with such artists as Guido Basso, Michael Burgess, Jackie Richardson, and the late Hagood Hardy. He has performed for the Prince and Princess of Wales, and at both official Toronto World Series parties. In 2002, he toured Canada with the CBC, for their 50th Anniversary, and has performed with The Winnipeg Symphony and the Hamilton Philharmonic.

In 1997, David released a solo album of mostly original material, entitled “Hard Times”, which met with considerable critical success. It received worldwide airplay, including a feature on THE HOUSE OF BLUES RADIO HOUR. Real Blues Magazine named “Hard Times” to their TOP TEN LIST! David continues to front The David Johannesson Band, as lead vocalist/guitarist, performing in a Blues/Rock format. Also on the live front, he frequently plays at corporate and society events, where he specializes in Classic Rock, covering material from Motown to The Rolling Stones, and beyond. In addition, he plays drums in several small group jazz situations, and has played on theatre shows, as well as doing numerous recording sessions.

David has worked as a jingle singer as well, lending his voice to products such as Mazda, Nissan, Mennen Speed Stick, Sony, and Mountain Dew.
